The WLB seventh grade won a back-and-forth game 38-32 to even
their record to 4-4. Jack Eimer led the way with 13 points to
go along with seven assists and five steals. Blake Jones had a
career night with 12 points and seven steals. Zach Morris had
eight points, while Jake McCray had three and Payton Batley had
two.
In the loss for the Panthers, Sam Birnbaum led all scorers
with 16 points to go along with his 11 rebounds. Will Ewald had
six points and Josh Vinson added five.
The eighth-grade Wolverines (6-2) won 41-17 behind
double-doubles from both Alex O'Donoghue with 12 points and 11
rebounds and Casey Mollohan with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Preston Ebelherr added seven points with five assists and five
steals. Rounding out the scoring for WLB were Nate Sprague with
five, Ryan Steffans with four, and Zac Montcalm and Eimer each
had one.
The Panthers were led by Nathan Podunujec with four points.
Drew Martin and Jacob Stauffer each had three, while Mike Chi
and Sam Birnbaum had two, and Josh Vinson added one.
The Wolverines have rescheduled their game versus Carroll
Catholic on Thursday to instead cheer on the Lady Wolverines as
they play for the state tournament championship. WLB will take
their home floor next week Tuesday as they host the Springfield
Calvary Saints.
