[December 07, 2012]  The Lincoln College men's basketball team finally took down a pesky Quincy University JV team 89-80 on Wednesday night at Jack D. Nutt Arena in the Lincoln Center at Lincoln College.

Aaron Simpson (North Chicago), the NJCAA DII National Player of the Week, scored 35 points on 11-of-20 shooting, including 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. That's Simpson’s fourth 30-plus game out of the last five played.

JoVaughn Gaines (Gurnee) and Kendall Wesley (Chicago) also scored double figures, with 20 and 11 respectively. Wesley added seven assists.

Quincy led by one at the half, 45-44, before a late surge by the Lynx to take the nine-point win.

Lincoln College shot 49 percent from the field, including 36 percent from the 3-point line. The Lynx were 17 of 24 for 71 percent from the free-throw line.

Lincoln College will take on Illinois Valley Community College on Saturday at 2:p.m. at home. It will be the last home game for the Lynx before the semester break.
