[December 12, 2012]  The Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team returned to the court Monday night after a weeklong break, as the Red Lions hosted the St. Louis Christian College Soldiers in Gatson Arena of Lincoln Christian University's Laughlin Center. It was easy to tell that LCU was excited to get back on the court as they ran past the Soldiers, winning with a final score of 87-44.

LCU (3-7) created an early lead by beginning the game on a 9-2 run. SLCC (0-10) stayed on pace with the Red Lions for a few minutes, but eventually the Red Lions pulled away, going into halftime leading 48-20. LCU would never trail throughout the game as they were led by sophomore forward Gabe Langseth (Stewartville, Minn., Stewartville High) and senior guard Brady Cremeens (Hopedale, Olympia High). Langseth finished the night as the game's leading scorer with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Cremeens ended the night with a double-double as he put up 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds.

SLCC was led throughout the night by freshman point guard Joeleigh Rattray (Palm Bay, Fla.), as he put up 17 points in the game on 5-of-13 shooting, with 13 of those points coming in the first half. Rattray also grabbed eight rebounds. Junior forward Micah Schnautz (Louisville, Ill.) also chipped in 11 points for the Soldiers.

The LCU Red Lions will return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to take on Holy Cross College (7-5) at 7 p.m. EST.
