ZLS Lady Eagles finish regular season

[December 20, 2012]  The Zion Lutheran Lady Eagles eighth-grade basketball team recently finished their regular season by winning three games: with Concordia Lutheran School of Peoria, Christ Lutheran School of Peoria and Trinity Lutheran School of Springfield. They finished with a 23-3 record.

ZLS defeated Concordia, Peoria, 46-29. Scoring for ZLS were Hailie Williams (16), Brooklyn Hermes (10), Anna Sielaff (10), Katie Hunsley (8) and Danielle Burgrabe (2).

The Lady Eagles doubled the score of Christ Lutheran, Peoria, 52-26. Zion Lutheran scorers were Williams (21), Sielaff (10), Hunsley (9), Hermes (8), Burgrabe (2) and Gabbie Cox (2).

The score of the game with Trinity, Springfield, was 41-16. Scoring for ZLS were Hermes (22), Sielaff (9), Lane Prather (6), Hunsley (2) and Lauren Canady (2). Williams was ill and unable to participate.

The Zion sixth-grade team lost to Concordia, Peoria, 21-14. Lane Prather scored 10 points, and Madelyn Koehler and Olga Harris each scored two points.

The sixth-graders' final game was a victory over Christ Lutheran, Peoria, by the score of 27-15. Prather (12), Koehler (11) and Reese McCuan (4) did the scoring for the Lady Eagles. Trinity, Springfield, did not field a sixth-grade team.
