Reminder: Burning of construction-demolition waste is illegal

[February 01, 2012]  The Logan County Emergency Management Agency and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency remind everyone that disposal of construction waste via burning is illegal in the state of Illinois.

HardwareAccording to EPA guidelines, open burning of waste by a business is illegal. This includes construction-demolition debris, tires and materials containing asbestos.

Also prohibited is burning commercial waste or garbage such as food, food scraps, food packaging and diapers.
