County clerk urges everyone to register to vote

[February 01, 2012]  Logan County Clerk Sally J. Litterly is reminding everyone that the primary election is really not all that far away, and if you aren't registered to vote, your voice will not be heard.

HardwareThis year several offices are up for election, and although many incumbents are running unopposed, it is still important to cast your vote.

In addition, this year the citizens of Logan County will be asked to vote on electricity aggregation. If you have an opinion on this subject, your vote will make your opinion known.

Voting is a privilege afforded to all adults once they have achieved the age of 18. If you are or will be 18 on or before March 20, you are encouraged to register and exercise your right and let your voice be heard.

There are others who may need to re-register. If you have moved or have recently married or otherwise changed your name, you are encouraged to visit a voter registration office and make needed changes to your voter record.

In Logan County there are several places this can be done, including the county clerk's office; the driver's license facility when receiving services; local libraries; through precinct committeemen; at Hartsburg-Emden High School, Mount Pulaski High School, Lincoln Community High School and Olympia High School; through a representative at Lincoln Christian University or Lincoln College; at the Logan County Farm Bureau; and with general deputy registrars.
