[February 07, 2012]  LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A massive cargo ship that tore through a bridge in western Kentucky has been moved downriver so the remaining debris can be cleared from its bow.

HardwareThe Coast Guard says the Delta Mariner was cut from underwater debris on the Tennessee River Monday morning and the boat was moved about a mile away. The ship is loaded with space rocket parts for Air Force and NASA missions.

The vessel routinely carries launch components from a manufacturing site in Decatur, Ala., to Cape Canaveral, Fla., and another launch site in California.

A statement from the Coast Guard says workers will continue clearing the twisted steel and hunks of asphalt from the ship at the new location.

The Coast Guard says an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
