The Lincoln Public Library hosted a Pirate Party on Tuesday for all the mateys who wanted to come aboard. Six young boys braved the skull and crossbones to enter the special event.

Books about pirates and children who want to be one were on display for the boys (no girls came to this party) to look at and maybe take home to read.

Table decorations and Rice Krispie treats with pirate faces and headgear made the party even more fun. Miss Jamie read pirate stories, and the children talked about pirates and their boats.

Miss Jamie, the pirate captain, gave directions for the musical island game, just like musical chairs but with carpet islands that are taken away one at a time when the music stops.

As islands disappear, the pirates must go back to shore and wait for the game to end. But everybody came out a winner when the stories began and treats were served.
