CHESTNUT -- Donald E. Carlin, 68, died
Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio.

Chestnut- Donald E. Carlin, 68, died on February 12,
2012 at Hospice Care Center in Copley, OH.
Donald was born on May 15, 1943 to Earl and Anna
Marie Keppe Carlin in Ottawa, IL. He married Helen
“Kay” Carlin in April of 1998 at Mt. Pulaski
Christian Church. She survives in Chestnut. He
worked as an over the road truck driver and served
in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include children: Kathy Saferite of San
Jose, IL; Allen (Donna) Carlin of Peru, IL; Lora
(Ed) Greenfield of Mason City, IL; Tammy Bassett of
Pekin, IL; Jason (Ginger) Payne of Riverton, IL; and
Kristina (Rick) Hitchcock of Tampa, FL; brother:
Herman Carlin of Emden, IL; 15 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents and step son David Towle.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday February 17, 2012
at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski with
Mark Weber conducting services. There will be a visitation
from 9:00-10:30 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will be
held at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials may be made
to donor's choice.
