Hartsburg-Emden FFA wins state award

The ag issues team from Hartsburg-Emden FFA won the state FFA ag issues Career Development Event at Western Illinois University on Saturday.  The event was hosted by the WIU College of Agriculture.

 

Team members are Cole Baker, Alicia Clark, Noah Cross, Willow Krumweide and Natalie Nowatney, with Erin Rankin serving as the computer technician.

 

The team's topic was the diesel emission regulations pertaining to farm equipment.


In October the team will represent the Illinois FFA at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

A first-place plaque was awarded to the ag issues team from Hartsburg-Emden FFA at state competition at Western Illinois University in Macomb. The team will advance to national competition at the National FFA Convention in October.

 

Hartsburg-Emden FFA has won at state competition five times since 1998. Ag issues have been the organization's main focus for winning presentations.

Hartem won its most recent previous state award in 2006. The 2012 state award was for presentation of a forum centered around an informational meeting at an implement dealer.
