[February 21, 2012]  McLEAN -- Dorothy E. Gordon, 78, of McLean, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at 8:48 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

McLean – Dorothy E. Gordon, 78, of McLean, passed away at 8:48 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gordon will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Mr. Tony Billingsley will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home.

Surviving Dorothy are her husband Rex of McLean; two children: Tony E. (Laura) Gordon of McLean and Sandra M. (Randol) Williams of Kennett, Mo.; two sisters: Thelma (Bill) Allen of McLean, and Nellie Renfrow of Atlanta; and one brother, Leo Horath of Wyoming; four grandchildren: Gabe Gordon, Theresa Mitchell, Shadd Gordon and Kody Gordon, and eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tylar, MaKayla, MiKenna, Ryan, London, Ethan and Kiyana.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alan Rex Gordon and one grandson, Les Gordon.

Funeral Director

Dorothy Elizabeth Horath was born March 9, 1933, in Effingham, the daughter of Andrew I. and Sarah E. Lilly Horath. She married Rex Gordon on December 30, 1952. He survives.

Dorothy worked through the years at the Dixie Trucker's Stop in McLean, Hornes and Admiral Tech. She loved raising her children and being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will dearly miss her.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Hope/Funk's Grove Fire & Rescue Department.
