Fire department seeks info on midnight fire

[February 21, 2012]  The Lincoln Fire Department responded at 12:00 a.m. Monday to a fire in a vacant structure on property at 407 Decatur St. The fire was discovered by a Lincoln police officer patrolling the area.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered a fire on the outside of a detached garage. The fire was extending up from the ground into the attic area of the structure.

Firefighters pulled a 1 3/4-inch hose line and quickly extinguished the fire.

The fire did minor damage to the structure. The cost of the damage is estimated be $10,000.

No one was injured during the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, so the official classification is currently "Undetermined." If you have any information related to this incident, please contact the Lincoln Fire Department at 217-735-4020.
