It’s important for dads not to
pressure mom to express her milk or supplement with
formula so you can help feed the baby. It’s important
for her and the baby to have breastfeeding firmly
established (4 weeks or so) before introducing a bottle.
Doing this too early could affect her supply and could
possibly derail breastfeeding success.
For more information,
contact the breastfeeding peer counselor at the Logan
County Department of Public Health, 217-735-2317, ext.
246.
Scorekeeper
Sharon Foley tallies the scorebook for the last time in her 15-year career.
Foley has kept score for both Mount Pulaski Grade School and Mount Pulaski High
School over the years. Her sons John, Paul and Mark and daughter Ellen all
excelled at MP basketball. Her youngest son, Mark, is a senior this
year, and with his exit from the Hilltopper team, his mother will also take her
leave.
Congratulating Sharon on a fine job are
her husband, Bob (brown shirt), friends Kathy and Kevin Letterle (next to Bob),
and seated behind Sharon is the timekeeper, Marty Spear (in purple), her longtime
partner in crime. Mount Pulaski High School Principal Terry Morgan (in purple) is
seated beside Sharon, checking the visitors' scorebook.
