Lynx wrestlers sit at 3rd going into today's semifinals

[February 25, 2012]  ROCHESTER, Minn. -- The Lincoln College wrestlers find themselves in third place in the team race after the first day's competition at the NJCAA national tournament.

HardwareThe Lynx were lead by a trio of wrestlers making it to the semifinals.

At 141 pounds, Ethan Raley advanced with a fall in 1:55 over Josh Romero of Highline Community College.

At 149 pounds, Mark Marionavich defeated Kane Lovvorn of Colby CC, and Michael Johnson won by major decision over Anthony Whitmarsh of Highline CC.

In the consolation bracket, three more Lynx advanced into the all-American matches.

At 157 pounds, Mike Togher defeated Shane Fessenmaie of Ridgewater CC.

At 184 pounds, Matt Dwyer won by technical fall over Devon Nitcheu of Mercyhurst CC, and at heavyweight Gabe Berry won by fall over Ryan Steverson from Muskegon CC.

Semifinals and places begin at 10:30 Saturday morning, with the finals set for 7 p.m.
