Strong thunderstorms possible tonight

[February 28, 2012]  The National Weather Service office in Lincoln has released a hazardous weather outlook for portions of central, east-central and southeast Illinois.

This outlook, released at 6:18 a.m. Tuesday, is for the counties of Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fulton, Jasper, Knox, Lawrence, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Morgan, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Richland, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Shelby, Stark, Tazewell, Vermilion and Woodford:

Tuesday and Tuesday night:

Strong thunderstorms are possible across the area this evening and overnight as a storm system moves into the region. The higher chance of damaging winds will be southeast of Interstate 70.

Wednesday through Monday:

There will be a chance of thunderstorms on Friday as the next storm system moves across Illinois.
