[January 07, 2012]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2012 on Wednesday at 3:11 a.m.

K'Sha Samaria Grace Carter is the daughter of Kristen Morse and Leterrase Carter, both of Lincoln. K'Sha's siblings are Kwame Carter, 3, Khloe Tungate, 2, and Kyah Carter, 2.

K'Sha weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth. Her physician is Don Sielaff, M.D., a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology with Springfield Clinic Lincoln.

The baby was delivered just one day after her due date. "I wanted to go into labor on New Year's," Kristen said. "But it worked out."

ALMH presented K'Sha and her family with a basket of baby care items and a knitted blanket and sweater from ALMH volunteer Ruby Blickerman. The ALMH Auxiliary also donated a basket of pink items from the Gift Shop at the hospital.

ALMH's Family Maternity Suites is a state-of-the-art obstetrical center that features spacious, private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum rooms with private restrooms and showers. Each mom and baby receives individualized care.
