[January 10, 2012]  Monday night the Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team fell to NAIA Robert Morris University-Springfield 97-92.

Senior Chris Lawson was in great form as he led LCU with 30 points. Junior Brady Cremeens followed right behind him as he recorded 28 points. Lawson and Cremeens combined made a total of 12 3s in the match. Senior Mac Ingmire had a season-high 10 assists, but tough defense from RMU prevented the Red Lions from pulling out the victory.

The Red Lions were trailing by nine with four minutes left to play when they started to make their final charge. Lawson started to heat up as he made two important 3s to pull LCU within three in the final seconds. Outside shooter Cremeens made a 3, arguably the biggest shot in his LCU career, at the buzzer to send the Red Lions to overtime. In overtime, LCU regained the lead for the first time since early in the game, but a couple of big shots from RMU sealed the victory.

Monday night's game marks the fifth time the Red Lions have lost a match within 10 points this season.

Afterward Cremeens said: "We took some major steps in the right direction; now we have to work on playing well consistently. We can't be content with close games and good tries."
