[January 13, 2012 It wasn't exactly the storm of the century and probably not the storm of this winter, but after warm temps and little snow, yesterday's weather was a slap back to the reality that this is January, and bad weather is part and parcel of living in Illinois this time of year. Blowing winds made the few inches of snow seem like more as well as making it feel exceptionally cold. We can take heart that more moderate temperatures will be back beginning on Saturday.

While this little piggy doesn't seem to be too bothered by the fact he's wading in snow, live animals may not feel the same way. With snow and cold upon us, remember the animals in your life and be sure to give them some extra care.
