Applications for Lincoln Woman's Club scholarships now being accepted

[January 19, 2012]  The Lincoln Woman's Club has scholarship applications in a variety of fields available for students entering college or vocational school in the fall of 2012.

Scholarships include:

  • Lorado Taft Art Scholarship, $1,000

  • Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship, $500

  • Hamilton Ridge Music Scholarship, $1,000

  • Centennial Library Science Scholarship, $300

  • Illinois Cottage Park Vocational Scholarship for Girls, $1,000

  • Lincoln Lodge Vocational Scholarship for Boys, $1,000

  • Vina Miller Art Scholarship, $1,000

Students applying for the above listed scholarships must attend an Illinois college, university or vocational school during the fall of 2012. Funds are mailed directly to the school.

In addition, a Cultural Exchange Scholarship is available for high school students studying abroad under a viable cultural exchange program such as AFS/USA or YFU.

The deadline for all applications is Feb. 15. Application forms are available by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to LWC Scholarship Chairman Judy Rader, 132 11th St., Lincoln, IL 62656. They are also available through the guidance departments of Lincoln Community High School, Hartsburg-Emden High School and Mount Pulaski High School.
