It has
been a very good week for Steven Combs.
On Saturday, Combs was
chosen as the Explorers' Rookie of the Year by the Lincoln Rural Fire
Protection District. Then on Tuesday, Steven was honored as the Kiwanis Club of
Lincoln's student of the month for his efforts in advanced welding
at LCHS. Pictured with Steven is Joe Haning, Kiwanis president.

has accepted a

Boeing in St.

graduating.
Brian is a 2008
graduate of
Winnebago High
School and has
completed his
undergraduate
studies at SIUE.
He is currently
enrolled in the SIU School of
Dental Medicine
in Alton and
plans to
graduate in
2015.

installation, "Raices"
or "Roots," at
the Plaza Manuel Tolsa in Mexico
City on Wednesday.
"Raices" is a
depiction of a
giant root that
extends to 14
historic sites
throughout
Mexico City and
is
designed to
encourage
reflection on
the nation's
past.
Collectively
weighing about
28 metric tons
and extending
1.2 kilometers
in length, the
roots are
manufactured
with an interior
of steel and
covered in
polyurethane and
fiberglass.
