Community Action honors volunteers as part of MLK Day of Service

[January 20, 2012]  Community Action recently honored volunteers in the Foster Grandparent program while celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

Henry Johnston of Jefferson Christian Church in Lincoln spoke of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Paula Gregg, director of the Foster Grandparent program, honored those in attendance for their service to the program.

The Corporation for National and Community Service leads the annual MLK Day of Service, working with the King Center in Atlanta and thousands of nonprofit groups and businesses nationwide. The MLK Day of Service shines a spotlight on service as a powerful force to bridge economic and social divides, empowering individuals, strengthening communities and bridging barriers.
