Zion volleyball tournament results

[January 24, 2012]  The Zion Lutheran School Eagles won second place in Zion's eighth-grade volleyball round robin on Saturday.

Zion lost to tournament champion Deland-Weldon 14-25, 19-25 in the opening match. Rachel Podbelsek and Anna Sielaff led the Eagles with two aces each. Tori Tripplett had four kills and two assists. Sydney Johnson contributed two kills and three assists.

The Eagles defeated Calvary Academy 25-18, 25-21 in their second match. Sielaff served seven aces and had five kills. Johnson had three aces, three kills and three assists. Tripplett added four assists.

ZLS defeated Greenview 25-17, 23-25 and 15-12 in their finale. Tripplett had nine aces, five assists and two kills. Podbelsek and Sielaff added four aces each for the Eagles.

The Eagles are coached by Mike Conrady and Kelly Tripplett.
