4th of July fireworks and Jason Bassett Band canceled in Mount Pulaski

But there will still be plenty of things to do

[July 02, 2012]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Due to the dry weather conditions, the fireworks display scheduled for Mount Pulaski at dusk on Wednesday and the Jason Bassett Band at Frazier Park have both been canceled. All other scheduled activities will take place as planned.

During the day there will be townwide garage sales with area residents participating.

From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a fried chicken dinner fundraiser on the south side of the square.

Boy Scout Troop 122 will also host a fundraiser, and their feature will be pork chop sandwiches. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in East Park

The children's parade is scheduled to take place around the courthouse square at 6 p.m.

At 7 p.m. the Mount Pulaski Community Band will provide a concert at Vonderlieth Living Center.

The Jason Bassett Band was scheduled to play at the same time in Frazier Park, but that has been canceled due to the dry weather conditions.

Note: The Spring Street entrance from Route 54 into Mount Pulaski is closed for repairs.
