Logan County Dynamite teams compete in  Hoops for Troops

Both Logan County Dynamite teams were in action last weekend during the Hoops for Troops AYBT tournament at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington-Normal.

The LC Dynamite 4 (third- and fourth-grade boys) team went 2-3. They beat the LSA Lions twice by the scores of 29-8 and 22-8. They lost to the Twin City Thunder 34-13, Richez Road Warriors 21-5 and Western Avenue 27-4. Drew Martin scored 16 points, Brandon Kretzinger had 15 points, Jamee Letterle had 10 points, Ethan Trimpe had nine points, Todd Kelly had seven points, Grant Davis and Cody Brady each scored six points, and Garrett Fitzpatrick added four points.

The LC Dynamite 5 (fourth- and fifth-grade girls) went 3-2. They beat the Lady Swish 29-11, Predators-Cox 27-6, and the Lady Swish 28-6. They lost to the Farmington Farmers 27-24 and to the Gators 34-14. The LC Dynamite 5 team was led by Skylar Hayes with 48 points. Abigail Fitzpatrick had 39 points, Ainsley Chandler had 25 points, Callie Anderson had six points, and Kaylee Wilham and Madison Thomas each scored a bucket.

Both groups will participate in the AYBT national tournament in Bloomington-Normal July 19-22.
