The heat does not stop children from having fun at Christian Child Care. We have been outside playing with wet sponges and planning trips for swimming and ice skating.

We did plan to celebrate our second annual family picnic on National Picnic Day, but the heat was at 104 according to our computer thermometers. The staff at Christian Child Care is always up for a challenge and created an indoor picnic for all our families. Hot dogs, chips, juice and cheesecake (a center tradition) were served, and our Dolphin Classroom became our playground space. We had one child eat a record three hot dogs!

Christian Child Care is always prepared to celebrate with food, and two upcoming fundraising events in July will help the center pay for new flooring and much-needed outdoor lighting for the building. On July 21, the center will sell rib-eye and pork chop sandwiches at IGA. On July 26, we are having our second annual drive-by spaghetti dinner. We are selling tickets for individual meals or a specially priced family meal that should feed a family of four, unless you are board member Pat O'Neill. Pat loved the spaghetti so much he ate the family meal on his own! It is that good. We will have corn and bread with the meal also.

If you have any questions on enrolling or on the upcoming events at Christian Child Care, contact Coleen Moore at 271-732-5750. Christian Child Care is a United Way agency, housed in an Odd Fellows facility.
