[July 11, 2012]  Lincoln Fire Department fire and rescue reports for Wednesday, July 11: 

July 5 structure fire

At 8:59 p.m. July 5, the Lincoln Fire Department responded to 215 N. Elm St. for a reported structure fire. On arrival firefighters found a 10-by-10-foot shed fully involved and surrounding fence, trees, brush and debris also ablaze.

Lincoln firefighters quickly deployed a 2 1/2-inch hand line to extinguish the fire and prevented further involvement of nearby structures.

Damage is estimated at $10,000.

There were no reported injuries and no one was displaced as a result of this fire.

The cause is currently under investigation.

The Lincoln Fire Department thanks all responding agencies for their assistance at the scene

  • 7:02 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1100 block of North Postville Drive.

  • 8 p.m. -- Cover assignment, standby, move up at the 1100 block of Primm Road.

  • 9:38 p.m. -- Called to the 100 block of North Sherman Street for a trash or rubbish fire.

  • 9:50 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 900 block of Primm Road.

July 5

  • 2:03 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of Willard Avenue.

  • 2:12 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1100 block of North Postville Drive.

  • 11:20 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 100 block of Sixth Street.

  • 5:48 p.m. -- Called to the 1600 block of North Ottawa for a gas leak (natural gas or LPG).

  • 8:23 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 500 block of Seventh Street.

  • 8:56 p.m. -- Structure fire in the 200 block of North Elm Street.

  • 9:33 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to South Walnut Street.

  • 10:06 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1100 block of North Ottawa Street.

July 6

  • 5:05 a.m. -- Call to the 300 block of Ninth Street was due to unintentional smoke detector activation. No fire.

  • 8:17 a.m. -- Called to the 3000 block of Woodlawn Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

  • 10:03 a.m. -- Call to the 1000 block of Primm Road was due to unintentional smoke detector activation. No fire.

  • 3:02 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 6:13 p.m. -- Call to the 300 block of North Kickapoo was due to unintentional smoke detector activation.

  • 8:02 p.m. -- Call to the 1200 block of Pulaski Street was due to unintentional smoke detector activation.

  • 10:38 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 11:38 a.m. -- Called to the intersection of Keokuk Street and North Ottawa for a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

  • 5:25 p.m. -- Called to the 202 block of Stahlhut Drive for an incident involving excessive heat, scorch burns but no ignition.

  • 7:51 p.m. -- Call to the 800 block of Malerich Drive was dispatched and canceled en route

  • 8:21 p.m. -- Called to the intersection of North Kickapoo Street and Keokuk Street for a motor vehicle accident with no injuries.

July 8

  • 3:23 a.m. -- Call to the 1000 block of North College was dispatched and canceled en route.

  • 7:41 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North Madison Street.

  • 7:43 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 9:44 a.m. -- Call to the 1500 block of Seventh Street was due to an unintentional alarm activation. No fire.

  • 11:06 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 1:00 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 400 block of Minder Drive.

  • 7:17 p.m. -- Called to the 500 block of Eighth Street for a brush or brush and grass mixture fire.

  • 9:53 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

July 9

  • 4:38 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 600 block of Denver Avenue.

  • 10:10 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 3:52 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 800 block of Malerich Drive.

  • 9:58 p.m. -- Good-intent call to the 1300 block of North Kickapoo Street.
