County board finance committee accepting requests for hotel-motel tax funds for 2013

[July 12, 2012]  The finance committee of the Logan County Board is accepting requests for hotel-motel tax funds to be used for tourism-related projects and events in 2013.

Organizations requesting funds should provide the following information:

  • What the funds will be used for.

  • How the use of funds will bring more tourists to the county.

  • What publicity will be used to attract tourists.

  • An approximation of attendance by out-of-county visitors.

  • Whether the organization has a 501(c)(3) designation.

  • Bylaws of the organization.

  • Most recent financial report, if available.

  • Whether they've received hotel-motel tax in past years and if so, when and how much.

The funding requests should be submitted to the Logan County Board, P.O. Box 39, Lincoln, IL 62656; or delivered in person to the county board office at the Logan County Courthouse. The deadline is 4 p.m. July 25.

Requests will be reviewed by the committee on July 30 at 11 a.m. in the County Board Room at the courthouse. Those submitting requests are welcome to attend.
