Heat and humidity to continue through Wednesday

[July 16, 2012]  The National Weather Service in Lincoln released the following weather outlook at 5:45 a.m. Monday for portions of central, east-central and southeast Illinois. This outlook is for the counties of Cass, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fulton, Jasper, Knox, Lawrence, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Morgan, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Richland, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Shelby, Stark, Tazewell, Vermilion and Woodford.

Monday and Monday night

Very hot conditions are expected today with highs in the middle 90s and heat index readings near 100 degrees.

Tuesday through Sunday

Very hot conditions will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday as heat index readings reach between 100 and 105 degrees.

A cold front dropping south into Illinois will bring scattered thunderstorms to the area Wednesday through Friday.
