Jerry James

[July 16, 2012]  LINCOLN -- Jerry Wayne James, 71, of Lincoln, died Thursday, July 15, 2012, at 12:38 p.m. at his home.

Lincoln-Jerry Wayne James, age 71, of Lincoln, died at 12:38 P.M., July 15, 2012 at his home.

Jerry was born on July 8, 1941 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, the son of Bernice "Bernie" Russell and Mabel Maxine Coffey James.  He was united in marriage to Denise Geary Turley on July 19, 2004.  Jerry is survived by his wife, three sons, Russ (Tonya) Davenport of Peoria, IL, Kevin Davenport of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Terry Hutchcraft of Lincoln, IL, one stepson, Michael "Christy" Turley of Lincoln, IL, one sister, Shelia "Danny" O’Brien of Elkhart, IL and one brother, Jesse Dalton James of Lincoln, IL., 7 grandchildren and two step grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Albert James and one brother, Larry James.

Jerry was retired from Lincoln Developmental Center where he worked in the dietary and housekeeping departments.  He was a Air Force Veteran.

Services for Jerry will be on Thursday July 19, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, Il. with Russ Davenport officiating.  Burial will be in New Union Cemetery in Lincoln, Il. with full military rites by American Legion Post #263.  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Memorial Home Hospice or to the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge for Big Cats.
