Heat continues, with cold front bringing slightly lower temps and possibility of storms this evening

[July 19, 2012]  The National Weather Service in Lincoln released the following weather outlook at 6:12 a.m. Thursday for the counties of Fulton, Knox, Logan, Marshall, Mason, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford in central Illinois.

Thursday and Thursday night

Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and tonight as a cold front drops south across central Illinois. Locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning will be possible from the stronger thunderstorms. The chance for severe storms is low through tonight for areas west of Interstate 55.

Friday through Wednesday

High heat and humidity will return Monday through Wednesday with afternoon heat indexes from 100 to 105.
