Emden Legion Homecoming this weekend

[July 20, 2012]  EMDEN -- The Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Post 506 of Emden are hosting the Emden Legion Homecoming this weekend.

Homecoming events start Friday evening, with entertainment by Prime Time County. They are being sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion and will perform at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the homecoming parade will start at 2 p.m. The parade theme this year will be "Made in America." All entries are welcome, especially any and all floats. Parade sign-up is at St. Peter Lutheran Church.

The Hartem FFA is hosting the chicken supper this year. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

For Friday and Saturday entertainment, the inflatables from Fun Services will be available from 6 to 10 p.m. and a rock climbing wall will be open from 7 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday night, the Sons of the American Legion are sponsoring The Dynamics. Members of The Dynamics are Phyllis Stake, lead female vocalist, guitarist, bass pedals and harmonica; Chris Hawkins, lead male vocalist and guitarist; Karen Sperlin, vocalist and drummer; and Betty Giacobazzi, lead female vocalist and keyboard. The group has played as The Dynamics around central Illinois for more than 15 years, performing at clubs, fairs, festivals, birthdays, anniversaries, benefits, private parties and company function. Musical selections include oldies, country gospel, bluegrass and rock 'n' roll.
