This past weekend Emden celebrated 138 years. In observance, the community put together its 61st annual homecoming.

Even as temperatures began climbing back into the upper 90's by mid-afternoon on Saturday, hundreds of folks were out enjoying the opportunity to catch up with family and friends and to celebrate their roots. "Thank goodness, it isn't as hot as it's been!" was the common utterance.
