Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[July 25, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were sharply lower on Tuesday afternoon.

Technical and fund selling at the Board of Trade helped to push prices lower.

In Monday's Crop Progress report, the condition of the Illinois corn crop placed only 7% in the good category, with 27% fair and 66% very poor to poor.

The states soybean crop placed 13% in the good to excellent range, with 38% fair and 49% in the very poor to poor condition.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids down 10 to 25 cents at 7.84-7.95.

Soybean bids traded 45 to 54 cents lower at 16.62-16.85.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 7 to 25 cents lower at 7.92-8.27.

Soybean bids were down 45 to 55 cents
at 16.71-16.89.

Wheat bids were 30 to 35 cents lower at 8.57-8.62.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 20 to 25 cents lower at 8.00-8.40.

Soybean bids were down 48 to 55 cents at
16.63-16.97.

Wheat bids were 33 to 38 cents lower at 8.37-8.82.
