The members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart are counting their blessings in fried chicken dinners this week. The annual fundraising event for the church brought out a very large crowd, and it's no small wonder, with all the delicious food.

Over 500 diners enjoyed homemade gravy over the homemade mashed potatoes, and homemade desserts were highlights, as of course was the delicious fried chicken done with on-site fryers by John Olson.

Organizers said at last year's event they served 338 meals, so this year's turnout was quite impressive.
