[July 20, 2012]  LINCOLN -- Glenn Shelton II, 46, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 11:25 a.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.

Glenn Shelton II, 46, of Lincoln, passed away July 18, 2012 at 11:25 AM at The Christian Nursing Home.

Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Springfield, IL with Reverend Glenn Shelton and Reverend Dr. George W Waddles officiating.  Friends and family may visit with the Shelton family at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Glenn was born June 30, 1966 in Springfield, IL, the son of Glenn and Ginger (Redd) Shelton.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lincoln, IL. where he sang in the choir.  He was a free spirit that loved people and was loved by many people.  He could always make you laugh.

Surviving are his maternal grandmother Gladys Herrington of Lincoln, IL.; his paternal grandmother Vivian Shelton of Springfield, IL. his parents Reverend Glenn and Ginger Shelton of Lincoln, IL.; sister Sidney Reveter of Springfield, IL.; sister Wendy (Emanuel) Butler of Lincoln, IL.; sister Leslie (Greg) Phillips of The Colony, TX.; sister Rhonda (Mark) Dawson of Lincoln, IL.; brother Blake Shelton, United States Navy; brother Wayne Jones of Lincoln, IL; his children:  Ryan Jelks of Decatur, IL.; Nicole, Raven, and Glenn Shelton III all of Springfield, IL.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church, Lincoln.
