Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[July 31, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trend, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were sharply higher on Monday afternoon.

Hot and dry weather conditions continue to push grain prices higher.

In the USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report, the condition of the US corn crop fell by 2% to place 24% in the good to excellent category.

The condition of the US soybean crop also fell by 2% placing 29% in the good to excellent range.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 20 to 22 cents higher at 7.99-8.18.

Soybean bids traded 31 to 32 cents higher at 17.26-17.42.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 20 to 25 cents higher at 8.22-8.48.

Soybean bids were 31 to 35 cents higher at 17.34-17.47.

Wheat bids were 14 to 17 cents higher at 8.89-8.98.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 19 to 20 cents higher at 8.14-8.60.

Soybean bids were mostly 36 to 42 cents higher at 17.34-17.60.

Wheat bids were 12 to 17 cents higher at 8.73-9.15.
