[June 01, 2012]  LONDON (AP) -- British lawmakers are kicking up a stink about the odor and lack of cleanliness inside restrooms at the House of Commons.

In an internal survey of legislators and their staff published Friday, they also complained about the standards, service and range of food at Parliament's restaurants and cafes.

Some legislators grumbled that cuisine available at facilities inside the Palace of Westminster, home to both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, was too elaborate.

Many requested a return to traditional British dishes.

About one third of lawmakers, and a quarter of their staff, said the famous building had a problem with dirty, smelly bathrooms.

A total of 177 legislators and 961 staff were questioned for the House of Commons study.
