Langley pleads guilty to multiple charges

[June 06, 2012]  The following statement was released this morning by Jonathan C. Wright, assistant state's attorney, regarding felony cases against Boone J. Langley:

On March 12, 2012, Boone J. Langley was charged with one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a class 2 felony, in Logan County case number 2012-CF-33. On April 16, 2012, Boone J. Langley was charged with three counts of Harassment of a Witness, each a class 2 felony. In addition, Mr. Langley was charged with violation his probation in Logan County case number 2010-CF-55 for the underlying offenses of Aggravated Battery, a class 3 felony, and Mob Action, a class 4 felony.

On June 5, 2012, Boone Langley entered into a fully negotiated plea agreement. Pursuant to that plea agreement, Boone Langley admitted the allegations of the Petition to Revoke Probation in 2010-CF-55 and was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. In addition, Boone Langley pleaded guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse in 2012-CF-33 and was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Boone Langley pleaded guilty to one count of Harassment of a Witness in 2012-CF-55. The remaining counts were dismissed pursuant to the plea agreement. Mr. Langley was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Pursuant to the plea agreement, the 5 year prison sentence 2012-CF-55 is to be served consecutively to the 5 year prison sentence in 2012-CF-33.
