[June 07, 2012]  Lincoln Fire Department fire and rescue reports for Thursday, June 7: 

Vehicle fire in the 200 block of Southgate

On June 6 at 2:57 a.m., the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Southgate.

The owner(s) of the vehicle noticed smoke coming from the dash and called 911 from a nearby residence.

The Lincoln Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a heavily involved four-door passenger car in the roadway and quickly controlled the fire with a 1.75-inch hand line.

There were no reported injuries

The vehicle is a total loss of approximately $3,000.

The cause of the fire appears to be an electrical fault within the dashboard but is officially classified as undetermined. No foul play is suspected.

  • 4:15 a.m. -- Call to the 2100 block of Fifth Street was dispatched and canceled en route.

  • 4:26 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 900 block of Third Street.

  • 5:15 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 1000 block of North College Street.

  • 9:58 a.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 600 block of Sixth Street.

  • 1:09 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 600 block of Sixth Street.

  • 2:12 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to Centennial Courts.

  • 3:08 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 100 block of Crestwood Drive.

  • 5:10 p.m. -- Assisted EMS in a call to the 900 block of 21st Street.

  • 7:58 p.m. -- Called for a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Illinois Route 121.

  • 10:16 p.m. -- Good-intent call to North Main Street at Seventh Street.
