[June 08, 2012]  Free airplane rides for children ages 8-17 will again be a part of Logan County’s annual Airport Daze celebration. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Logan County Airport.

All visitors can enjoy the free open house and tours of the Heritage in Flight Museum at 1351 Airport Road, Lincoln.

The plane rides will be offered between 10 a.m. and noon on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are necessary.

The rides are sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association Young Eagles.

The EAA Young Eagles program was started in 1992 to give interested young people ages 8-17 an opportunity to fly in a general aviation airplane. The flights, which are free of charge, are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
