[June 12, 2012]  DELAVAN -- The Prairieland Theatre Company will have its second fundraiser of the summer at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hometown Wine & Spirits annex, 315 Locust St. in Delavan. The troupe will reprise excerpts from "Spoon River Anthology." Pianist Ben Rudolph will lead the audience in songs of Americana in between the individual performances.

Funds raised will be used to support the Prairieland Theatre Company, which to date has staged 20 performances in Delavan.

Wendy Schweigert, a member of the group, says: "It's no coincidence that we specialize in older material with no royalty fees and have chosen unusual venues -- Prairie Rest, Colony House, Presbyterian Church and now a business on Locust. We try to be very resourceful."

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased in advance at First Farmers State Bank and Heartland Bank in Delavan or at the door the evening of the performance.

The Harvest Café will provide wine, beer, soft drinks, and light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.
