[June 13, 2012]  McLEAN -- A program called "Go Batty!" will be presented at Sugar Grove Nature Center on June 27 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. This is the Year of the Bat, and the program is an opportunity to learn about bats and see some up-close.

Joe Kath, endangered species program manager for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, will give a presentation about bats and highlight those that might be caught during the program. Then, participants will use a bat detector and mist-nets to locate and (hopefully) capture bats feeding along Timber Creek.

This program is great for all ages. Participants will receive bat-related materials and feast on a batty snack.

The fee is $5 for members of the nature center and $7 for nonmembers. Registration is required.

For more information or to register, phone 309-874-2174 or email register@sugargrovenaturecenter.org.
