Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[June 26, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were sharply higher on Monday afternoon.

The continuation of the hot and dry weather pattern for the cornbelt pushed grain prices sharply higher.

The USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report
reflected declining conditions for the US corn and soybean crops.

The US corn crop fell by 7% from last week to place 56% in the good to excellent
category.

The US soybean crop placed 53% in the good to excellent range, down 3% from last week.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 36 to 40 cents higher at 6.43-6.66.

Soybean bids traded 40 to 41 cents higher at 14.67-14.77.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 37 to 41 cents higher at 6.46-6.62.

Soybean bids were 36 to 41 cents higher
at 14.62-14.87.

Wheat bids were 36 to 41 cents higher at 6.89-7.07.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 40 to 41 cents higher at 6.50-6.80.

Soybean bids were 40 to 42 cents higher at 14.75-14.92.

Wheat bids were mostly 49 to 51 cents higher at 7.00-7.42.
