Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon, with corn and wheat higher and soybeans lower.

Corn futures drew strength from the lower than expected crop condition ratings in the USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report.

Traders also began to even positions ahead of the USDA's reports on Friday.

In the cash markets, trading was moderate. There was weakness noted in the cash corn basis at many river terminals.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 7 to 15 cents higher at 6.58-6.73.

Soybean bids traded 11 to 12 cents lower at 14.55-14.66.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 11 to 14 cents higher at 6.57-6.76.

Soybean bids were mostly 8 to 12 cents
lower at 14.59-14.75.

Wheat bids were 3 to 6 cents higher at 6.95-7.10.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 11 to 15 cents higher at 6.61-6.95.

Soybean bids were 11 to 13 cents lower at 14.64-14.79.

Wheat bids were mostly 4 to 8 cents higher at 7.05-7.55.
