Temps to top 100 degrees; NWS issues heat advisory through Friday

Send a link to a friend

[June 28, 2012]  A heat advisory is in effect through Friday as afternoon highs today soar to around 100 across the north to a sizzling 107 degrees in the southeast. Highs on Friday may be a little cooler across the north due to cloud cover and possibly a few thunderstorms. However, humidity levels will be quite a bit higher, so heat index values are still forecast to range from 100 to 105 degrees. Across the south, the same old thing: Intense heat to continue with afternoon readings Friday up to 105 degrees. The heat will continue through the weekend with afternoon temperatures forecast to be well into the 90s.
