Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce
director Andi
Hake was up to no good Thursday afternoon, and
here she is caught in the act. The car
being wrapped with police tape belongs to
departing Lincoln & Logan County Development
Partnership director Mike Maniscalco. A
reception was held for Maniscalco Thursday, and
while well-wishers were inside the Farm Bureau
building on the downtown square saying goodbye
to Maniscalco, Hake and a little group of
accomplices gave him a special going-away gift.
LDN will have more coverage on this in the
Saturday edition.

It's
hard to believe that the Logan County Fair is
just a month away, but it is. Work is
already under way to get the livestock show barns
ready for the hundreds of animals that will vie
for top honors at the various livestock shows
this year. Here Rich Spaugh, Bob Thomas
and Justin Kimberlin are setting up pens in the
sheep barn.

Chef
Marcella Hazan poses in the kitchen of her Longboat Key, Fla.,
home. Her many cookbooks, classes and television shows
have made classic Italian cooking -- this time the real deal -- as
ubiquitous in the U.S. as burgers and pizza. Though 88,
officially retired and wrestling with back and other health
issues, Hazan continues to teach. This time it isn't in a
refurbished 16th-century palazzo in Venice. It's on Facebook.
