[June 28, 2012]  COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- NJCAA headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., released the 2011-2012 NJCAA All-Academic Teams this week. Over 450 teams qualified for academic team accolades. The Lincoln College softball and baseball teams were among the teams recognized.

Nearly 60,000 student-athletes competed in the NJCAA for the 2011-2012 academic year on more than 3,500 teams in 28 different sports. Teams that qualify with an overall GPA above 3.0 are designated as a 2011-12 NJCAA (Sport) All-Academic Team.

The Lincoln College softball team, coached by Crystal Wurth, accumulated a 3.39 grade-point average, while the baseball team, coached by Tony Thomas, earned a 3.27 GPA.

"We are extremely proud of these programs," said Dave Klemm, athletic director at Lincoln College. "Their hard work and dedication are to be commended. They are a true example of 'student-athletes.'"
