[March 01, 2012]  Thursday night, clouds will increase as storms approach the area from the southwest. Some of the storms may reach our far southern areas by 6 a.m.

The Storm Prediction Center outlines a slight risk of severe storms through 6 a.m. in an area that includes a small portion of our southern counties.

On Friday morning, strong to severe storms will affect our area southeast of the Illinois River. The storms may produce damaging winds and large hail, along with a few tornadoes. The storm threat should subside by mid afternoon as the line of storms moves quickly to the east.
