Lady Lynx softball off to a good start

[March 08, 2012]  ORLANDO, Fla., Walt Disney Wide World of Sports Complex -- The Lady Lynx are off to a strong start, having compiled 66 runs off 73 hits in their first three days of spring training. Their current record after three days is 4-3, and the last games are on Friday, against College of Lake County.

The Lynx will play their first home game on March 28 against Parkland College.

Game 1 vs. Ridgewater Community College

The Lady Lynx split their opening games with Ridgewater Community College of Minnesota. The first game went to extra innings and the Lynx were defeated in the top of the eighth. The final score was 5-4. Darrian Chrzanoski led the team with two hits and a double. Rachel Price (0-1) took the loss for the Lynx.

Game 2 vs. Ridgewater Community College

In the second game with Ridgewater, the Lynx were solid at the plate behind the efforts of Ellie Riggs and Lohgan Bryant with two hits each, and Christi Dixon led the Lynx, going 4 for 4. Rachel Price (1-1) picked up her first win of the season

Game 3 vs. College of Lake County, Chicago

In their first game with College of Lake County, the Lynx won 9-5. Sophomore pitcher Jana Wright (1-0) picked up her first win, and Jordyn Steiner earned a save. Lohgan Bryant was 2 for 3.

Game 4 vs. College of Lake County

The Lynx had an impressive day at the plate, compiling 20 hits to win the second game of the doubleheader 17-5 behind the hitting efforts of Rachel Price, Darrian Chrzanoski, Casey Barratts, Christi Dixon, Rachel England, Jessica Dorgan and three hits from Lohgan Bryant. Price was the winning pitcher, making her record 2-1.

Tuesday scores vs. St. Clair

Game 1 -- 5-4 loss. Jana Wright (1-1) picked up the loss.

Game 2 -- 9-0 loss. Rachel Price (2-2) took the loss for the Lynx.

Game 3 -- 12-3 win. Jordyn Steiner picked up the win for the Lynx, going all seven innings, and was 2-3 in the box. Jessica Dorgan and Lohgan Bryant both hit home runs in the win.
