Regional water supply conference March 29

[March 14, 2012]  The East Central Water Supply Planning Committee Stakeholders Meeting is scheduled for March 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Urbana. This conference is open to anyone who uses water.

The purpose of the conference is:

  • Understanding the emerging science of the Mahomet Aquifer and surface waters, and implications for water supply planning and management in east-central Illinois.

  • Obtaining stakeholder involvement, participation and commitment in the water supply planning process.

Presenters will be from the Illinois State Water Survey and the Illinois State Geological Survey. The study area includes the following counties: Cass, Logan, Mason, Menard, Sangamon, Tazewell, DeWitt, Macon, McLean, Piatt, Woodford, Champaign, Ford, Iroquois and Vermilion.

Deadline for the $30 conference registration fee, which includes lunch, is March 16. For students, the fee is $20.
